For these four childhood friends that time has finally arrived. As choices start to become tougher, will life, love and new relationships force them to be the men their loved ones need them to be or will they fold under the pressure?

What I liked:
First of all, I was really looking forward to reading a book by a male author. These days in the urban lit community, I feel like we're lacking the Eric Jerome Dickie's, Omar Tyree's and Michael Baisden's of the African American fiction world. Not to mention, I find it interesting to be in the head of a male character when told from a male's author point of view. I liked the men were a mixture of Black men. As in some down right sneaky while others were good men and successful. I did think the book lived up to the synopsis and I liked that said synopsis didn't give the book away

What I did not like:
I think what has stood out the most for me in the dislike column is that I didn't feel a connection to any of the characters. As a female, I want to read a book and possibly become intoxicated by the male character - at least one of them. Or hate them. I honestly felt nothing one way or the other. I was neutral about them all really. This is probably why I never truly felt pulled into the novel. Some storylines I thought were okay while others weren't my cup of tea.

Would I recommend this? Read it again? Read the next book in the series?
There isn't a high chance I'd recommend this book because it isn't memorable for me. Wouldn't read it again but out of curiosity, I would be open to trying one more book by the author.

Rating:
I was conflicted between 3 and 4 crowns. Parts of the book held my attention while others I was not a fan of. Overall though, I didn't royally dislike it and I gave it 3 stars on Amazon and Goodreads.
