After meeting Isaiah, you would think he had it all together. Having his own problems to deal with, he met Alaina and realized maybe his problems weren’t as bad as they seemed. He quickly tossed his worries to the side to show Alaina that life is worth living. After spending time together, Isaiah found out that it wasn’t only him saving her but she was saving him too. Some say it’s better to have loved and lost than to never loved at all. Alaina answered when love called her name but will it be all worth it in the end? |
What I liked:
I liked that the main character had an unusual job.He wasn’t the typical owner of a car dealership or a dope boy. Isaiah’s line of work was unusual and refreshing. I also like the focus on tragedy within the storyline. Every story can’t have a happy ending, and I’m glad that this one showcased that it’s possible to find love in a short period of time, and it also encourages readers to push through hard times because you never know when your breakthrough might be coming.
What I did not like:
I think that book could have been edited a little better, though I understand that it’s nearly impossible to create a perfect book, and that some things will slip through the cracks during editing. I didn’t care for the suicide attempt, especially because Aliana’s excuse for fighting her child’s father and his wife was because of her daughter. So, one minute you love your daughter enough to risk everything for her, but when you have to face the consequences of your actions, that love goes out of the window and you want to end your life? That’s something I just couldn’t swallow.
Would I recommend this? Read it again? Read the next book in the series?
I would recommend this for anyone that would like to read a short romance story, but personally I don’t think I would read it again.
Rating:
I’d give it five crowns and four stars for grammar and editing.
